Advisory Board

The development work of CETE is primarily run by senior scientists. They initially attempt to gain evidence through research in order to build recommendations for engineering education on it. An advisory board shall support the scientists’ development work and hereby pursuit two objectives:

  1. The members of the advisory board shall supply the partners of the thematic network with advice for instance on emerging trends, necessary thematic focusses, political orientations and practical implementation.
  2. Members of the advisory board descend from institutions, organisations and industrial partners of different countries. Thereby the network is extended and the development work is also implemented in partner countries. At the same time the board is being used to increase the degree of familiarity of CETE.

Equivalent to its objective target the advisory board consists of different representatives from the economy, politics, industry and other institutions. So far six representatives from major institutions agreed on supporting the joint development work in the advisory capacity of an advisory board member - in the framework of the thematic network’s work more representatives are to join and complement the advisory board to ten members in total.

Haus der kleinen Forscher (Little Scientists’ House), Germany

Since 2006, the non-profit foundation “Haus der kleinen Forscher” has worked on improving the education of children between the ages of three and ten in science, mathematics, and technology. With a nation-wide professional development programme, the “Haus der kleinen Forscher” Foundation supports early childhood educators and primary school teachers in nurturing children’s spirit of discovery and in accompanying them in their exploration and inquiry activities in a qualified way. The “Haus der kleinen Forscher” programme thus makes an important contribution to improving educational opportunities, fostering the next generation of professionals in the STEM fields, and professionalising teachers and educators. Partners of the foundation are the Helmoltz-Association, the Siemens Foundation, the Dietmar Hopp Foundation, die Deutsche Telekom Foundation and the Autostadt in Wolfsburg. It is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
